The Marblehead Racing Association has developed several safety procedures to benefit those participating in the various sailing events hosted by the yacht clubs in the area:

3. Man Overboard/Quick Stop Procedures
4. Coast Guard and MRA Required Equipment
While the Sailing Instructions do not specifically mention wearing a PDF, everyone racing in MRA events should be aware that the "Y" flag will be flown more consistently at the beginning of racing, signaling that all participants must wear an approved PDF during the entire race, not just at the start and finish. This will be particularly true during spring and fall events when the winds are usually stronger and the water is colder.
